SYNTAX
|
<INDEX>
|
DESCRIPTION
|
This older element was used for simple forms prior to the
FORM element's creation. The element
indicates that the browser must allow the user to search an
index by entering keywords. This legacy element from HTML 1.0
is much less common now that forms capability is available.
Although it can be placed in other areas of an HTML document,
it is usually found in the HEAD section.
